Well-being school in Mangochi - WBS-koulu Mangochissa
Pemphero Children’s Foundation in Mangochi District
I recently participated in and observed the activities of the Pemphero Children’s Foundation in the Lungwena catchment area, where the foundation’s main office is located. Lungwena is a rural part of Mangochi district, approximately 50 kilometres from the Mangochi town centre.
One of the key initiatives of the foundation is the Well-being School (WBS), a community-based educational project that operates under the umbrella of Pemphero Children’s Foundation. Established in 2019, WBS is committed to supporting 20 vulnerable children aged 5 to 6 years each year.
On the first day of my visit, we spent time getting to know each other better.
On the second day, we held workshops with both the children and their guardians.
The workshops focused on education, the implementation of the WBS program, and how the school is managed and run.

Osallistuin hiljattain Pemphero Children’s Foundationin toimintaan Lungwenan alueella Mangochin maakunnassa. Tällä syrjäisellä alueella sijaitsevat säätiön toimisto ja toimitilat.

Yksi säätiön tärkeimmistä projekteista on Well-being School (WBS), joka toimii yhteisöpohjaisena kouluna Pemphero Children’s Foundationin alaisuudessa.
Vuonna 2019 perustettu WBS-koulu tukee vuosittain 20 heikoimmassa asemassa olevaa 5–6-vuotiasta lasta ja heidän perheitään.
Ensimmäisenä päivänä tutustuimme toisiimme paremmin.

Toisena päivänä järjestimme työpajoja huoltajille ja lapsille, joissa aiheina olivat koulutus, WBS-koulun toteutus sekä koulun hallinnointi ja johtaminen.
